Well, as long as it's a standard serial-port-based modem, it
shouldn't matter what brand you buy. The only suggestion I would have
is to find out what 56k standard your ISP is using (besides V.90) and
buy a compatible modem. Why bother matching the proprietary standard
you ask? Simple -- if your ISP is using the USR protocol along with
the V.90 standard and you buy a K56flex-compatible modem, you
probably will have trouble connecting at 56k because USR modems
expect to connect at X2 first and vice versa. So, it would be a good
idea to match your modem protocols to what your ISP uses.
