"Open the firewall" in what sense?  As long as GAIM-or-whatever
initiates the connection, and as long as it stays on a single port,
we're fine.  Do we need to be able to support some sort of incoming
connection for this wretched thing?

This is for real time conversations, but yeah, there are so many
alternatives (uh, IRC?), but for some reason they insist.
