you don't say what your net connection is. Is it DSL/cable using one of
the ethernet cards, or a dialup via modem? We need to know this before we
can answer your questions properly

see my first question. We need to know how you connect to the net. If it's
over a dialup, then only one card is needed. If not, then you will need to
use your static IP for one of the cards, and use one of the above for your
provate interface.

now this sounds like you use one of the ethernet cards for your net
