Well, read the IPCHAINS-HOWTO in you /usr/doc/HOWTO dir.
Other HOWTO worth reading is the Firewall howto.

You could also use a program which makes your firewall rules
like in ATGuard. (Window$ Firewall proggie)For Linux it's 
called Mason and you can find it at:

On other URL I found very usefull is http://ipchains.nerdherd.org/

With Linux Security I think you mean Maximum Linux Security
from SAMS. Well, personally I think this book is one of the
best security book ever written. And overall, this book is
for Linux to :) The CD's contain usefull tools for finding
gaps in your security on your Linux box. This book is worth
the money. Even for the hardcore Linux user. (Like me)

The other book, I don't really know. But others told me the
Linux Firewall 's book is also good.
