Yes, I decided to do #2, with the linksys router.
In response to Martin Brown, unfortunately I'm doing to as a temporary
measure to replace a linux firewall! It's a long sordid story, but
basically I'm having trouble maintaining a linux box remotely for my mom's
office. I don't know how or why, but I keep getting a variety of hardware
problems in their environment. I'm using an UPS so I *think* power is not
an issue, although these problems reek of it.
