Hi Eric,
Hi Bret,
Hello everybody,
As a normal user (jvd@host1) I have run rsync to copy some file from a host1
to a host2.
It seems that rsync (like rdist, mirror, etc.) needs the rshd daemon for
transfering files between two hosts and it donīt allow me to logon as root!
So, i can not transfer files as root!
On the other hand, when i logon as a normal user (jvd@host1) ALL files are
copied to host2 as owned by jvd (own=jvd group=jvd) even if in host1 it was
owned by another user and another group !!
In fact, I would like to use rsync (or another program) to backup ALL files
from host1 to host2 via tcp/ip and preserving ALL chmod and chown file
settings !! Is it possible ?
Any help, please ?
Thanks in advance!
Jose
