First, you can try to copy your public key into the linux
box, but to the ssh2 directory. This could be one reason of problem.
If this does not solve the problem, then you have to revised
the sshd2 configuration file. In this file you can say what
authentication schemes you are going to use. Maybe you have user/
passwd scheme disabled.
But I don't think you have a DNS problem.
