Hi,
Have you read your /var/log/messages to see if it gives
you any hints? I had trouble with losing an inactive
telnet session about a year ago when I first set up my
boxes. One of the default services ,(I think named) that
I wasn't using and hadn't been configured properly ,
was running every so many minutes and killed telnet.
Once I stopped the unused service it solved the problem.
We leave a telnet session open all day often inactive
for hours and it never dies now. Sorry I can't be more
specific but it was a long time ago.
