Jake, the only thing that changes is the kernel based on your
architecture.  Everything else has been compiled for the i386, so that
is why you are getting those files.  If you change to Mandrake (a
recompiled RedHat distribution for the most part), they compile all
their packages for i586, but I think that is the best you will get
unless you compile them yourself.  That is unless anyone else knows of a
i686 distro, in which case, let me know!
