Hi folks,
Hair pulling situation.
My current ISP has started sucking big-time, and I need to change.
Unfortunately, not too many choices here in backwoods, bum-fu*k GA, so
I am forced to go with bellsouth.net *NOT* the dsl version, either.
:((
I can get the ppp link running, but have some questions that I just
can't seem to find answers to.
1. What should my hostname be set to?
2. There are some email issues.
1. Most of my family uses (uck) Netscape mail. Their local
usernames are *not* the same as the usernames on the bellsouth
pop server. How to reconcile without having to make new
usernames for everyone?
Please, please help. The situation with my current ISP is so bad,
that if I cannot get these things working under Bellsouth, I will be
forced to abandon Linux altogether.
<sigh>
It took all of 2 minutes to change 5 people under W98.
</sigh>
Thanks for your help,
Merell
