hi bob and thanks kindly for your attempt to help but i'm afraid having removed
those directories has
not solved my system locking up at various times........
darn i was hopefull it made sense........i have noted that now i am up to 3.8%
non-contiguous so something is happenning to cause my hd to fragment similar to
what winows does but what?
i know i have plenty of memory/swap..i have 128mb physical and 133
swap..........plenty as i don't run anything intensive yet nor plan to at
once..........
i have 1gig of free hd space so plenty.......at least for now......
anyway i'll keep at it on my end of course and any other tidbits just let me know
..:)
one last thing i can' t seem to find the qt-1.44 directory anywhere....isn't it
usually in /usr/local/?
weird..qt2.1.1 is there no 1.44.....i know i didn't delete it but when i tried to
install via rpm package system says its installed but i can't find.....getting that
darn error ( when trying to install app like it matters at this point right!!!..ha
) saying can't link small kde application which I think means it can't find
correct version of qt?
anyway thanks for any help on your choice of topics..i've given all info i can
recall that seems appropriate
