Don't know where you have looked but the Redhat harware compatability list
has references to several watchdog cards. Some have phone connections as
well I believe.
In the case that something has hosed to the point of no remote access but
still may be operating enough for a watchdog program to tickle the card,
Could you run a script via cron that would check to see if the network
and/or telnet is functioning and if not issue a shudown -r now?
