When it comes to libraries, I am confused. I am trying to install the most
recent version of initscripts (as per 'Upgrading the Linux Kernel on Red Hat
Linux systems') and get the following error message:
error: failed dependencies:
procps >= 2.0.4 is needed by initscripts-5.00-1
When I try to install procps 2.0.6 I also get an error:
error: failed dependencies:
libncurses.so.5 is needed by procps-2.0.6-10
I found libncurses.so.4 on my system, and it was installed by ncurses-5.0-11
(the most recent one), but I don't know where to find libncurses.so.5. So,
maybe I do not need libc5 (it was mentioned as one of requirements by
'kernel/Documentation/Changes' document), but how to overcome those failed
dependencies? TIA.
