Hi !

When I started with Linux I had ahard time running licq myself and it was
always that wierd libctdc++....so.... thingie. I found copies on the net
with the same name just that the "so" was missing. I never got any
sufficient response what makes the difference between the so-version and
the non-so-version, but what made it work most of the time (three RH
installs, worked fine twice under 5.2, failed for some reason under 6.1) is
installing the non-so-version and symlinking it so that there is a faked
so-version available. It worked great and was stable that way. In RH 6.1 I
found the so-version exisiting, but for other reasons I couldn't get licq
to run, which is very sad, coz it is the best icq-clone for Linux I've seen
so far.
There is also a list for licq at ctr.videorton.com. To subscribe send a
mail with "subscribe licq" in the body to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
After I switched to a different icq-clone (kxicq, which is nice, but
appears always with this freakin big window) I got unsubbed from that list
and didn't resub again. Maybe it is even down. Afaik there is also a
website www.licq.org and you may contact the author of licq Graham Roff at
[EMAIL PROTECTED], but that is really the last ressort then. If you are
interested I can pass my saved emails from the list to you, just send me an
email in private.

Hope it helps to solve your problem,

                        Greez
