Steven,

What do you have in modules.conf?  What kind of card is it?  What does
"ifconfig eth0" return?  How did you configure it?  Kudzu found my Netgear
and configured it OK.  Adam Slieght seems to think my problem is because I
did a workstation install on my wifes' machine.  So I have to install the
server deamons for ftp and telnet on hers and ftp on mine.  Makes me feel a
little better because that is something I did not think to look at. 

If this is the problem it means I got everything else right on my own.  So
far I have been amazed how easy this thing is to setup.  I have a friend who
is now doing his 8th install of win98 since I got his X server configured.  
I just hope he dosen't decide to install linux again.  We can never find out
where he wrote down exactly what video card he has.
