i've tried to get phosphor to run as my screen saver for a while now but
now luck. the only time i can get is if i run xscreensaver-demo but then
you can't really 'choose' which saver you want. anyone know how to 'add'
a screensaver to, say, the gnome control center's screensaver config tool?

see what you said.....

      :On 05-Jun-2000 Eric Clover opined:
:> for some strange reason, when i have xscreensaver on random screensaver
:> fortune will come up as a screensaver from time to time. But, when i try
:> to set fortune as the default one, it is nowhere to be found to set it
:> as the default one. how can i set xscreensaver to use fortune and have
:> it type out the quotes out like xjack(the way it does it when i have
      :> xscreensaver set on random)?
      :
:The xscreensaver that I've been using for several releases has 2 different
:fortune-type files. One is 'noseguy' where the little guy runs all over the
:screen. It uses fortune. The other is called 'phosphor' and it gives simple
:random saying from a fortune-like db called zippy. It displays little
:characters that type across the screen in green phosphor-like characters.
      :
:If it isn't one of those, perhaps you actually mean xlockmore, not
      :xscreensaver?
