Gordon-

I keep getting the following errors when running ifup vpn0. I am getting
the ssh session but don't know what it the problem with this. I suspect it
is a configuration issue on my machin but I am stumped.

[root@bretdell_linux network-scripts]# ifup vpn0
Failed to open /dev/ttyp0: Input/output error
grep: /var/run/ppp-vpn0.pid: No such file or directory
Usage: inet_route [-vF] del {-host|-net} Target[/prefix] [gw Gw] [metric M]
[[dev] If]
       inet_route [-vF] add {-host|-net} Target[/prefix] [gw Gw] [metric M]

[netmask N] [mss Mss] [window W] [irtt I]
                              [mod] [dyn] [reinstate] [[dev] If]
       inet_route [-vF] add {-host|-net} Target[/prefix] [metric M] reject
       inet_route [-FC] flush NOT supported

/var/log/messages looks like this:

May 30 00:42:16 bretdell_linux ifup-vpn: vpn: pppd started for vpn0 on
/dev/ttyp0
May 30 00:42:16 bretdell_linux pppd[3539]: pppd 2.3.11 started by root, uid

May 30 00:42:16 bretdell_linux pppd[3539]: Failed to open /dev/ttyp0:
Input/output error
May 30 00:42:16 bretdell_linux pppd[3539]: Exit.

/dev/ttyp0 exists:

[root@bretdell_linux network-scripts]# ls -al /dev/ttyp0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root tty 3, 0 May 30 00:25 /dev/ttyp0

Any and all help appreciated
