hello, i got/installed the new 2.2.14-12 kernel rpms, and i wanted to do
a recompile to add an ali ide patch and get that working with the new
kernel. i got through all the makes ok and when i rebooted, the new
kernel was back to 2.2.14-5.0 and gives me errors on my scsi card and
wont finish loading(but the patch works now). i get a asc_isr_callback
error on the part where it loads the advansys module, and i have no clue
why this is happening or how to fix it. altho, i did try the 2.2.14-12
kernel rpms on another box , and that also hung on the scsi module part.
is there a bug in the 2.2.14-12 kernel where scsi cards wont work? and
does anyone have a solution for me, i would like to compile a
(2.2.14-12)kernel with the
configuration i made when i did the make xconfig and have the scsi card
stuff working, or is there a scsi card bug in the new 2.2.14-12 kernel?
or is there a way to get the newly compiled kernel(even tho it is
2.2.14-5.0) working?
thank you
eric
