That makes it even less understandable in my eyes. Funny thing: It has
happened often to me in the past that upon writing a polite mail to such
a user about trimming quotes I got a response basically saying: "But
it's so difficult" or "But it's so much work". Not having much
experience with Windows Mailers, I therefore concluded that it must be
kind of difficult...

Point taken. And you're right: Other programs (e.g. Netscape) seem to be
as bad.
