Since all of our printers speak postscript (we have standardized on HP LJ)
we are instructing them before each printjob, using ps, to send back some
statusinformation when they are done. Among other things the exact
pagecount which otherwise would be very hard to extract. PCL is not
allowed at all because you can't do these kind of tricks with that.
