LMSensors package

How does one know if your computer supports the "lmsensors"
or other hardware "diagnostic" utils? For example, I've got
a dual-Pentium Pro system I'd LOVE to know what the CPU
temps are, but AFAIK, there is no on-board hardware in the
motherboard (that *I* know of) to check this. Is there some
sort of hardware add-on one can buy for this?
