Hi Jim,
I'm a satisfied user of VMWARE. I use it on my Linux workstation
primarily to access Windows apps like Office. Here is my opinion -
1. Ease of use - It is extremely easy to setup and use .
2. Maintenance - install it and forget it.
3. Performance - acceptable ( in full screen ) , could do with
improvements. Primary irritations are slow mouse movements sometimes.
All of it offset by being able to run everything on Linux. I could play
RealPlayer, install my palm software and MS-Office. I even have my
printer attached to the NT running on VMWARE on Linux and it works
flawlessly . It is one of the HP "windows only" printer.
One of the best features is the ability to "suspend" an active session ,
exit from VWMARE and come back to it instantly!
You can download a 30 evaluation copy for yourself and check it out.
I highly recommend it.
You will need a high end PC (lots of memory and CPU) to realise the
benefits of VMWARE.
