I have VMWARE 2.0 for Linux installed on a Red Hat 6.2 box with Windows 98,
Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 in a multiple boot configuration. Our
primary OS is Windows 98 and we use a Novell server. The Red Hat box is used
as a gateway to the net but I boot Windows NT or Windows 98 for
administrative purposes from time to time from inside of Linux. The only
thing I can recommend is a minimum of 128 MB of RAM if you want Windows to
run at an acceptable pace. Also be aware that VMWARE doesn't support all the
hardware bells and whistles that Windows does but you can certainly run
Office applications easily. You also need to be careful how you set up
networking. I have my VMWARE set as "host only" to keep my Linux environment
inaccessible from the Windows environment but it sounds like you might want
the "bridged" setup. I would check that out before installation.
