Matt,

This is an overgeneralization or else I have misread the license (or it
changed).  As I read the license (and you should do this for yourself), one
needs to pay in order to sell MySQL.  So I can create a commercial website
and install and use MySQL without paying anything.  (Although the MySQL
authors would appreciate any financial support).

But I agree with everything else Brian has said.  Some might argue that one
should use PostgreSQL on principle unless speed is the only criterion.  And
even then, one has to put up with the things left out of MySQL.
