Use whatever works. PostgreSQL worked for me first time, so I was happy.
I'm sure I would have been equally pleased with MySQL.

I have heard them characterized as MySQL is faster, but PostgreSQL is more
fully featured. How true that generalization is, I do not know. Take it
for what it's worth -- nothing.

As for PostgreSQL landing funding, I say...
