Mike,
        A couple of questions - On your CD, is the IDE controller on the
motherboard?  If so, check to make sure the IDE controller is enabled in
your BIOS.  Now, for the FTP install, how fast is your connection to the
FTP server?  There is a delay when you get the Welcome to RedHat prompt
when installing from CD, so if your don't have a fast connection, be
prepared for a longer wait.
