Hi,

I have (what seems to me :) to be a common setup. I have a linux box at home,
I get mail from uucp, I have either dial-up ppp or cable modem access to the
internet, and I wish to set up my own sendmail for mail resolution and delivery.

that is to say that sendmail does not have to handle incoming mail, only local
delivery, and only delivery externally. seems to me to be a common set of
requirements.

my home pc has no "domain name", just a simple hostname. I would think that
since my mail comes from uucp, and not from the cable connection, this shouldn't
be a problem. anyway, when I configure sendmail using linuxconf, I get an error
about missing domainname.

what is the properway to configure sendmail for this type of setup ?

thx, and rgds,

-Greg
