I went that route (upgraded to V4.72 from V4.61) over the weekend. NS V4.72
seemed to handle my web site better (have two Java applets on the home
page).

Then it happened.

While answering an e-mail via Netscape & Yahoo mail, everything froze.
Gnome, X and Linux were hosed. Could not do anything to recover (even Telnet
in) but a push button reset.

I have thought about replacing the Java JVM in the browser as the next
possible fix (replace with Java 2 JVM) as NS has had a problematic JVM since
V4.05 Windows release.
