I made a discovery tonight with regard to terminfo and vim. I was using Windowmaker and was in an aterm when I su'd to root and then opened a file with vim. The file was a mess... full of control characters and crap. This did not happen as a normal user and it did not happen on the CLIN as root. I had just upgraded to 6.2 from 6.1 and then piglet. The fix was to delete the .terminfo directory in ~/.root. It appears there is a difference between the older termcap entries and the new and if this directory is still present it causes this problem... as it may come up again I thought I'd let the list know. I can't say for sure but it's likely that it would not happen on a clean install... only on an upgrade! -- mozilla Be Counted ---> http://counter.li.org:80/index.html -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
