i have a tape from an old slackware box that the hd failed in. i have
the backup of the hd which was written to the tape by cpio. the
slackware box is from around 96, i think. heres the problem. i can do
a cpio -itv -I/dev/st0 and can see the files that were written to the
tape. but, when i try to do a cpio -icv -I/dev/st0 to restore the file
to a RH 6.1 box i get the following errors:

[root@bonpr /archive]# cpio -icv
-I/dev/st0
cpio: warning: skipped 115517901 bytes of
junk
cpio: Memory exhausted
[root@bonpr /archive]#

any clues how to get this thing to restore?
