Not really. You can also use chrony to sync via NTP. According to the
author, chrony was designed to do this job in an environment which
doesn't have 24x7 network connection (and in fact this works fine on my
own home network, though I had to trick a bit as none of my machines is
running 24x7). More info can be found here:
