Remote X server not letting me connect

[redhat]

I am running redhat on my workstation with Gnome/Enlightenment.  I am then
telnetting to a server on my internal network.  When I export the display
I get errors: 
"Can't connect to X11 window server using '192.168.76.179:0' as the value
of the DISPLAY variable."

Is there something I have to set to allow remote X session to connect
back to my display?
