Hey, Marie, is Wayward holding out on you? I sent him the directions,
but... Guess his training is lagging... 8^) Suggest that Diablo render
some motivational momentum!

Ok, the sequential process for installing the Epson 740 is as follows:

1.  Go to  <http://lcewww.et.tudelft.nl/~haver/linux/epson.html> and d/l
    epson740.tar.gz. The link is in the top couple inches of the page.

2.  "tar xvzf epson740.tar.gz".  you'll get an "epson740/" directory.
    Drop down into same.

3.  "cp *.upp /usr/share/ghostscript/5.10/"

4. Now edit the file /usr/lib/rhs/rhs-printfilters/printerdb. Search
    for the entry "U_EpsonStylusColor". Then scroll down for the line
    which starts " BitsPerPixel: {stc600pl}" and after it add the
    following three lines:

BitsPerPixel:  {stc740ih> {Stylus Color 740, 1440x720DpI, Inkjet Paper}
BitsPerPixel:  {stc740p>  {Stylus Color 740, 720x720DpI, Plain Paper}
BitsPerPixel:  {stc740pl> {Stylus Color 740, 360x360DpI, Plain Paper}

5. Fire up the printtool utility, and when asked to specify the
printfilter,
    suggest you select the stc740pl uniprint one; it conserves expensive
    color ink until you find something worthy of fancy paper & ink.

6. Give it a whack. It's working well for me...

best

PS to Marie-

    Want I should send you some more Sambal Badjak? It's not only good
on chicken, but you could try rubbing it _all_over_ Wayward & watch to
see
what happens!
