In this case the theory is not far from practice; it should be fairly easy
to "migrate" a harddisk from machine to machine.

First, you have two lines for the NIC; not that it causes any problem (I
don't think).

I think the problem you are having is because of use of "initrd.img".
Check /etc/lilo.conf to see if there is any reference to any sort of
initrd in the kernel you boot from. If so, just "/sbin/mkinitrd -f
/boot/init_blah", and then "/sbin/lilo". That should fix it.
