OK -

I've been trying about every combination I can think of. I may not have
explained it as well as I might. I took the HDD from one machine to another.
A few differences between the machines, sound card, video adapter, faster cpu
(same model mother board). So the config files came for the ride. I figured
I merely needed to change a couple of configurations and everything would
work. That's why I like theory, so simple.

Here's the /etc/conf.modules file:

alias eth0 wd
options wd io=300 irq=10
alias sound sb
options opl3 io=0x388
alias midi awe_wave
post-install awe_wave /usr/bin/sfxload /etc/midi/GU11-ROM.SF2
options sb io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1 dma16=5 mpu_io=0x330
options wd io=300 irq=10

This is different form the "original" where irq was 10 and i/o 260. When the
system boots I get an error
    No wd80x3 card found (i/o = 0x012c)

I've also gotten (i/o = 0x118) when I had irq=10 and i/o=260. So where is the
ox118 coming from? I think there must be some other configuration file left
over that is getting read. I've plugged in three cards getting the basic same
result. When I test the card, it checks good (all of them) and the ultimate
test, the cards work fine when I plug in the NT HDD and fire up.

Any one have an idea?
