Win95 works fine with K6-2 processors, BUT you MUST get the AMD K6 patch
from Microsoft's web site (or AMD's web site or your motherboard maker's
web site) if you want to run at 350Mhz or higher. Without it you'll have
an unstable system. With it I've had no trouble at all. We've got two
K6-2 processors here, one a 350 one a 400, both running OSR2, both on
FIC motherboards (one is a VA503+ the other a VA503A) and they are both
as stable as you could expect Windows to be. (BTW, to keep this from being
TOO far off topic I must mention Linux: I've got a second VA503+ here
also running at 350 Mhz, which runs RH 5.2 and it is also behaving just
fine. it is the machine upon which I'm typing this note.)
Until you can find and install the patch, you'll find it less painful
to underclock the machine to 300 Mhz or so.
