I had such an issue once - took me a while to figure out that the older
RAM I had was actually slower than the new SIMMs I bought so the older
RAM wasn't able to keep up when I increased the bus speed (I had
migrated from a P75 (bus at 50MHz) to a P133 (bus at 66MHz) at the same
time). Just to point out one potential problem.
