Memory check utility

Does anyone know if there is a memory checking utility available for Linux?
Something like the old Norton Diag for DOS.  I installed a couple of new SIMMs
and have been having memory problems ever since (problems crashing etc.).  I
want to find out if the problem is with the SIMMs or some other conflict?
