I know this may not be what you want to hear, but one of the two most
recent MoBos I've lost (this one died in November) was a VX98... and
I started getting strange lock ups and eventually it even started
rebooting on it's own occasionally.

You might be having the same problem, since the manifestations are
so similar.

Subject: Bad Motherboard?

I am experiencing problems with one of my machines. Here is my problem, I
have a P233 with a FIC VX98 board. A while back I started to get sig11
errors on compiles. I was told this may be memory related. I just picked
up some new ram ( wanted more anyways ) and now the machine locks up all
the time. The machine is dual boot with Win95 on one HD and Linux on
another and it locked up in both. I now have it with only 2 16M simms and
it will run for a while as long as I am not doing anything. As soon as I
try to do something it will lock up. Since this is primarily a win machine
for my kids to play there games on, I have been trying things in windows
mostly. I did get some "blue screens" but have no idea what may cause it.

As for my new memory, it is in another machine running the new beta RH
6.1.90 without any troubles.

Any ideas? Is this a bad board or can it be something else?

TIA
