I have an old 486 with 16 meg RAM that I am using as a dedicated 56k
dialup box [masqueraded] for my home LAN. I recently decided to replace
all the other bboxes and sold them... so I am left with just this 486
box to use to access my email [multiple accounts] and the web. It has
an old Trident video card.

My Problem is this....

When I bring up Netwcape 4.07 I get the following error messages:

1. Iniatlly... Error #1 says: "Visual 0x23 is a 4 bit PseudoColor and
is not a supported Visual. It displays in MonoChrome [ and Images are
not displayed].
It goes on to state that StaticGray is supported in all depths and that
GrayScale, TrueColor,StaticColor and PsuedoColor are supported in depth
of 8."

2. When bringing up the Email Function... Error #2 states "Warning:
Cannot allocate ColorMap Entry for default background."

3. When Composing a New Message... Error Message #3 states "Warning:
Type Conversion Failed [and sometimes also "Cannot allocate ColorMap
Entry for default background"]"

I'm a bit lost...

Can someone tell me what is causing this and what I should do to fix
it???

'Many Thanks' in advance.

John
