I have been using the es1371 driver for about a year and
a half for my Ensonique AudioPCI card. No problems at all
(except getting the joystick port to work...irq conflict/
io port addressing problem). I am using the 2.2.13 kernel,
however, though I do not recall a problem while I was using
2.2.12. Of course, my soundcard is a different model.

Subject: Re: PCI audio (es1371) broken??? Kernel 2.2.12
I found information at:
http://www.uwsg.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel
This seems to be an archive of the kernel mailing list. Just search
for
es1371.
Additionally, http://www.lwn.net/daily has a copy of Alan Cox's
2.2.14pre8
report, stating that the PCI sound code by Thomas Sailer has been back
ported from kernel 2.3.x to fix this sound problem.
