Sorry, but I haven't been following this thread faithfully. This
statement caught my eye, though:

Recently, I did some research into leased lines in my neighborhood here
in Queens, NYC. I simply want an "always on" Internet connection with my
own domain name and the right to host my own services such as email and
www. I must say that between June and November, and variety of ISPs
became available offering low-cost alternatives to traditional telco
leased lines such as T1 and 56K. I found that Verio offers competetive
prices on SDSL lines. Prices start at $103/month for 160/160 Kbps line
and increment reasonably for higher speeds.

Glen, SDSL may not be in your neighborhood, but it is worth waiting for.
Check out DSL Reports <http://www.dslreports.com/>. It's a great
resource and will help you find DSL providers near you.

My circuit will be installed in about three weeks, at which point I will
start hosting my mail and web services off a linux box. I can't wait to
get started. And just to throw some fuel on the fire of this MTA debate,
I think I've settled on Postfix. ;-)

Cheers,
Jim
