Did the errata's break my pump, or was it me?

What would cause pump to suddenly break?  I have to rpm --force the pump
.rpm from my Red Hat 6.1 CD (now on HD) during boot, or I can't connect to
my DHCP network.  This happened right after installing the Red Hat 6.1
errata's.  Has anyone else has this problem, or is it just something I
must have done on my own?  Thanks.
