It might be attractive, but who is selling this retail (not
mailorder)? Not yet I think. As far as mailorder, I suspect the linux
sales are a pittance at this point. The only ones buying are those
already using linux and want a new box would be my guess.

The overwhelming number of users, wind up using whatever is on the box
when they get it. The only ones who are going to switch to another OS
are the technically inclined. This will not get linux into the
mainstream by itself. Installing any OS from scratch is beyond most
users.
