Hi all,
Anyone got any idea on how to add a shared lib in RH5.2? I have been
trying for a couple of days to get a lib installed
(libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2). The instructions were to unzip and copy it to
/usr/lib and run ldconfig, which I did and it seems to be listed correctly
with ldconfig, but when I try adding a rpm that depends on that lib, it
checks and says it's not installed (failed dependency). One thing was that
there were two versions (normal and one with _unstripped at the end of the
filename). Idconfig seemed to remove the normal one and then make a link
to the _unstripped one. Thinking that the link might be a problem, I rm'd
the sym link and mv'd the unstripped to the original lib name. Still
doesn't work. I've rebooted and that makes no diff. I also rebuilt the
rpm database in case it kept lib records and that did nothing either.
This is holding up two app installs, so any suggestions are more than
welcome. :)
