P.S. Sorry to the list for the upcoming Microsoft (tm) references.

Well, I could send you all the Samba configurations, netlogon scripts etc.,
but I have a distinct feeling it will do zip with your configuration. If
your own computer doesn't show in NN, then it seems its the Win
configuration that's screwed.
Make sure you have in your network setup.
Client for Microsoft Networks, and make sure for now it's not logging onto
an NT domain.
Your network card (DUH!), bound to TCP/IP
TCP/IP - with relevant IP address and netmask (although you must already
have this if you're pinging)
File and Print sharing both enabled for now. If you've set Linux Samba to be
the browse master, turn the Windows one off, otherwise make sure it's on.
LMAnnounce is on.
MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY TYPE A USER NAME AND PASSWORD WHEN STARTING. DO NOT
PRESS ESCAPE OR CANCEL. Windows networking will not work otherwise.
If your computer still does not show, try looking in entire network to see
if your Workgroup is showing. If it is, follow the tree to your computer,
and then it should also appear in the main NN screen.
If it STILL doesn't work - do the Microsoft (tm) RRR.
RETRY
REBOOT
