I want to install Perl 5.005_03. I ftp'd to redhat.com but didn't see an
rpm for it. How do I install the source code on my Apollo machine?
More specifically, I downloaded Perl from cpan. I tried to uninstall the
rpm for 5.004, but couldn't do so because of about 25 listed dependencies.
Does this mean I'm stuck with 5.004? Can I compile and install 5.005_03
over, around, or next to 5.004 without messing up my system? If I install
it will the system automatically switch to the new version or will it
still use the old?
Any help would be appreciated.
