This happened to me also. After starting X press ctl-alt-f1. You should see
some kind of error msg saying somehting like it couldn't find
/etc/sysconfig/sound. It is simple. Goto /etc/sysconfig and make a link from
"soundcard" and call it "sound". Or you could simply rename the "soundcard"
file to "sound" also. Problem sovled.
