I'm very happy with my Adaptec 2940UW. Bear in mind that if you put a slow
SCSI device (e.g. a 10MBps SCSI-2 one) on the same adapter that you run your
10,000rpm UW LVD Seagate Cheetahs off, your SCSI setup will drop down to the
speed of the slowest device, AFAIK.
