I've seen similar behavior on my system, which is 100% SCSI. Put a
audio
CD in, magicdev recognizes it and starts CD player (gtcd) , which reads
the CD,
and displays the artist and title. When I click play an "error" flashes
briefly on
the player and then the display goes back to artist/title display. No
music played. If I put a CDROM in its recognized, mounted, and all is
well.
I've checked dev permisssion and all is well.
